Delete Your EDIVIP Account
This page describes how to request deletion of your EDIVIP account and associated data. EDIVIP is the app name shown on the Google Play Store listing.
Steps to Request Account Deletion
Follow these steps to request that your EDIVIP account and data be deleted:
Step 1: Sign out of the app
Open the EDIVIP app on your Android device, go to Settings (gear icon in the bottom navigation), and tap Sign out. This stops any new data from being associated with your account while we process your deletion request.
Step 2: Send a deletion request
Send an email to edivip86@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
In the email, please include:
- The email address or phone number you used to sign up for EDIVIP
- A clear statement that you want your account and data deleted
Example:
I would like to delete my EDIVIP account and all associated data. I signed up with: [your-email@example.com or +1234567890]
Step 3: Wait for confirmation
We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation email once your account and cloud data have been deleted. If we need more information to verify your identity, we will reply to your email.
Step 4: Uninstall the app (recommended)
To remove all data stored locally on your device (drafts, photos, submission history), uninstall the EDIVIP app:
- Long-press the EDIVIP app icon on your home screen or app drawer
- Tap Uninstall (or App info → Uninstall)
- Confirm
Local data is permanently removed when you uninstall. You can uninstall before or after we complete the cloud deletion — both are fine.
Data That Will Be Deleted
When we process your account deletion request, the following data will be permanently deleted from our systems:
| Data type | Where it was stored | Deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Your account credentials | Cloud authentication | Account deleted; you will no longer be able to sign in |
| Profile information | Cloud database (display name, email, phone, status, push token) | All documents under your user ID removed |
| Draft application metadata | Cloud database (last updated time, draft status) | All draft metadata removed |
| Submission records (task IDs, status) | Cloud database | All submission records removed |
| Photos you uploaded | Cloud storage | All photos in users/{your-id}/photos/ deleted |
Note: Draft application content (names, passport details, etc.) is stored only on your device in an encrypted local database. It is not stored in our cloud. Uninstalling the app removes it from your device.
Data That May Be Retained
The following data may be retained for legal, regulatory, or security purposes:
| Data type | Reason | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Submission history (task ID, status, timestamps) on our backend | Legal audit trail and compliance with US Diversity Visa program record-keeping requirements | Up to 7 years, or as required by applicable law |
| Anonymized or aggregated analytics | To improve app performance and security | Indefinite, in a form that does not identify you |
| Data required for legal process | If we are legally required to retain or disclose data | As required by law or court order |
We will not use retained data for any purpose other than those stated above. You will not be able to access or request deletion of data retained for legal compliance once your account is deleted.
If You Use EDIVIP Without Signing In
If you use EDIVIP without signing in, we do not store an account for you. Your photos and drafts exist only on your device. To remove all data:
- Open the app and discard any drafts you no longer want (optional)
- Uninstall the app — this permanently deletes all local data
No email request is needed. We have nothing to delete in our cloud for unsigned-in users.
